Lettuce Dream was presented with the $1,500.00 grant that will aid the organization’s first phase of its building project that will have a large impact on Northwest Missouri communities. The first phase consists of building two hydronic greenhouses and an operations building by the end of 2015. This space will be used to produce fresh produce as well as a training facility. Individuals with development disabilities will be given the opportunity to gain job skills and education using the facility and its business plan for selling hydroponic produce locally.
Lettuce Dream launched a capital campaign in early 2015 in order to raise the funds needed for the building project. Board members continue to educate on the impact the operation will have on the community. For more information, please visit LettuceDream.org
